Paul Lazar, M.D. (1923 - 2003)
Founder, Dermalab, Inc.
Dr. Lazar was a board-certified Dermatologist
who had been in private practice for over 40 years.
Dr. Lazar received his medical degree from New
York Medical College. He served as a Professor
of Clinical Dermatology at Northwestern University
where he wrote and published The Look You Like,
which explores healthy solutions for proper skin
care. Dr. Lazar was a dedicated member and a past
president of the American Medical Association
Committee on Cutaneous Health and Cosmetics. Dr.
Lazar was constantly looking for new product formulations
and approaches to enhance the way people can take
care of their skin.
Earl Edelcup
President, Dermalab, Inc.
Earl Edelcup has been involved in the field of
cosmetology for over 17 years. After graduating
from Bradley University in 1985, Earl began his
career as a health and beauty buyer for Promotions
Unlimited. Earl worked with over one thousand
retailers while at Promotions Unlimited until
he elected to shift his focus. In 1990, Earl became
president of Ross Boutique and Beauty in Highland
Park, Illinois, a discount health and beauty retailer
targeted to an upscale clientele. As president
of Ross', Earl had an opportunity to speak to
customers on a daily basis, and identified a gap
the marketplace for a pure, hypoallergenic skin
care line. In the Summer of 1999, Earl purchased
Dermalab and embarked on a product development
process that has resulted in SKIN by Dermalab®.
Earl is a member of the Beauty and Barber Supply
Institute and is a prominent member of the GNC
Franchise Association.
Arden Edelcup, ESQ.
Corporate Attorney and Board of Directors,
Dermalab, Inc.
Arden Edelcup, esq. Received her law degree from
Loyola University in 1989. In 1995, Arden became
Corporate Attorney for Ross Cosmetics. Over the
years, Arden has taken particular interest in
the field of cosmetology. Along with her team
of cosmologists, Arden is always looking for new
product ideas and enhancements. She is committed
to developing innovative products and making them
accessible to people who need them. Arden is an
active member of the Highland Park Chamber of
Commerce and serves on the board of various local
charities.
